    hey guys,

when i move my computer sometimes, i.e. lift it off the desk to relocate it, i heard a violent, audible crunch/scraping sound from the right side of my laptop (to the right of the touchpad). is this my hard drive?? should i be concerned? is it hitting against the internal sides of my unibody casing?

thanks and I just got this baby 2 weeks ago.

If there's nothing around your computer, I would assume there's something wrong with it. Can take a picture of the area the sound comes from? Or even a video of what's happening?

It could be the hard drive parking the head, because all macbooks have a motion sensor that parks the hard drive head when moved. But it could be something else, it's really hard to tell.

If you have a disc in your CD drive, then it could be the sound of that scraping around in the drive.
