    hey guys...going to pick up a new mbp on monday and had a quick question. has anyone on here ever messed with crossover? I have a copy of office 07 ultimate for windows and read up about crossover and i was planning on using it to run office 07. Does anyone have any exp using the new version of crossover...i read that they added support for office 07...thanks!

    i cant get it to work. my friend got it to install. so good luck. they claim it runs the programs natively once u get it going.

    do you guys have the same version of os x and trying to install the same version of office? or was it one of those, it just happened to work on his and not yours...

    well thanks for the info...i guess ill play with the trial to see if it works...if not ill keep using my windows machine for office needs...

    Office 2007 is not certified to work on Crossover. Office 2003 is, though. If you want to use '07, you can install Windows through Parallels or VMWare Fusion (the better choice IMO). Take some time and read through the sticky thread at the top of this forum for more info.

    yea, that was going to be my second option...ill try out cross over...or else use vmware fusion. thanks!

    yeah, you are gonna need vmware. crossover (wine) isn't going to run office 2007 up to standards. its going to be glitchy and some apps might not even run at all...

    vmware fusion will work perfectly.

    crossover attempts to run win apps on unix as native applications (challenge) - some apps run OK

    vmware fusion just sets up a full windows environment inside of unix (easier) - most apps run perfectly (most games don't work)
