if you press ctrl option command(apple simble) and 8 at the same time it turns everything into a negative....i was blown away the first time i seen this....yet another reason why i love my mac :)

do any of you know any other little trick like this that i mite not know?

Yeaps, I use it a lot so I see how images look with inverted colours.

If you don't have your Apple Remote handy, you can always press Apple + Esc to launch Front Row. Also, try out pressing Ctrl and using two fingers, move "up" towards the spacebar on the trackpad. You will zoom into the desktop.

It's part of the Universal Access settings, go to the Universal Access preference pane in System Preferences to see all of the possible things you can do. The inverted colors one is the most interesting one though, I agree :)

You won't be able to capture this with a screenshot. Anyways, I used Photoshop to show the same effect.

I guess you could call it a hidden feature. It is of use to some people; for example, if I want to see how an image would look if I inverted its colours, instead of opening up Photoshop, I could just press those keys and see the inverted colours of that image.

Also, I find its easier on the eyes in a dark room. Instead of the bright white-ish background of NBR, I get a black background that isn't as hard on the eyes when the surrounding is dark as well.

    smiley_lauf,

I'm not too picky about browsers. I use both Firefox and Safari. I'm probably the wrong person to ask though, as the issues others describe just don't bother me. There are plenty of good threads. Try searching the Apple Forum for Browser.

I remember reading some good information HERE and HERE. Peace.

No, it's not a hidden feature - it's a help feature of OS X along with others like zoom and similar things for people who have hearing or seeing difficulties for example. It's just not something that most users use or even know about :)

Xander - Im guessing you have another mac, other then the 15" MBP? Cause those screens are 1650x1050 and thats not a MBP resolution unless you can raise the max res?

Yeah, I don't have Photoshop on my MBP so I was using a 20" iMac G5 for those screenshots.

Isn't Photoshop a "two-computer license"? I remember sometimes people tell me you can install Photoshop on one desktop computer as well as one notebook computer.

I never tried it myself, so I can't confirm it though.

    I don't know Sam.

I actually obtained Photoshop for free through my University with some type of Enterprise License Agreement. I'm not sure about the specific details (I didn't read the fine print) but I think, as a student, I can install Photoshop on any computer I own.

I don't really do much Photo-shopping anymore so I didn't want to install it on my MBP. Of course this type of agreement is not the typical Adobe Consumer EULA you're talking about. I don't know anything about that, sorry. Too much reading involved and then I still wouldn't be absolutely sure with all the legal jargon used.
