any chance you can get one under warranty. the tip came completely off mine when i tripped over it. i took it to apple and told them what happened. they said it should have disconnected rather then break. they handed me a new one right on the spot no questions asked.

eBay, just make sure you buy a genuine Apple model and not a cheap foreign made charger.

If you are under warranty then they can be nice. It could also be different from store to store, but I don't think apple would send away a customer over such a thing.

He just said he bought the system without the adapter, so there's no warranty claim that can be made here.

Warranty goes with the machine, regardless of who it's registered to.

Did you miss the part where he said he bought the machine and the AC adapter was missing?

Nope, I read the entire thread ;) Doesn't matter how you acquired the Macbook, even if it's not in your name, as long as it still has AppleCare, they will fix it.

Now, there may be some confusion. I'm not stating Apple will send the OP a new adapter.
