i found a bootcamp download (1.2) and installed it to get a dual boot with ubuntu. first it wouldnt let me run the installer, but a quick change of the system clock fixed that. so i got through and burned the cd and set the partition size. the onle thing is, during the partition i keep getting this error message.

besides doing what it says and reinstalling everything, is there any fixes?

In order to use boot camp, your hard drive cannot be previously partitioned. It has to be one single volume. So what you have to do is go to disk utility and delete any extra partitions you have.

Also, you need to have continuous free space. So if you have had your hd almost full, and then delete, and then install, and then delete, etc, you would need to defrag your hd.

Then it's the 2nd thing. You have to defrag your hd. Because most likely you have the free space but in different sectors of your hard drive. Get iDefrag, it comes bundled with cd maker which can make a bootable cd. so boot with that cd and run idefrag, defrag your main volume and you should be good to go.
