I'm on the verge of purchasing my first Apple laptop, and I just have a few quick questions about the rebate process for the iPod/printer/iWork. Apple is pretty good about their rebates, so that's a non-issue, right (I've gotten the shaft before on rebates)? Also, what kind of rebates am I looking at here if I buy online? Mail-in, online, etc...? I could have sworn that the Apple site says you can save $30 instantly on iWork if you buy it with a new laptop, but it doesn't show up as "instant" when I price something out in the education store.

Any help/guidance about the Apple rebate process is greatly appreciated!

    Oh nice, thanks.

So from what I gather, the iWork is an instant rebate if purchased from the online store. Does this mean I just get re-credited $30 after I make the purchase?

And I guess the other two (iPod/printer) are just online rebate forms to fill out.

When you configure your purchase for the education discount, choose your Macbook, then scroll downward and choose iWork. The discount for iWork is already applied, there's no additional rebate or credit. For the U.S. it shows $41. iWork is regularly priced at $79.

Ah I see. I was under the impression that iWork was normally priced at $41... haha.

Does anyone know what happened to the free printer deal? On the promo page it says purchases with an Apple computer between April 21 and July 20, but when I spec out a MBP it no longer has the option to add a free printer.

    Bump.

I'm about to put in my order, but if I can still get a free printer that'd be ace. Anyone know what the deal is?

That's really weird. It just like disappeared. Maybe try calling them?
If you do, let me know what they say.

Look at the rebate form to see what printers are eligible. After you know which one you want, just manually add it into the cart. As long as everything is on the same receipt, you're good on the rebate

I ended up calling Apple and putting my order in over the phone because I didn't want to risk anything, but I believe dibara2003 is correct. The representative said as long as you put your order in for an eligible computer/printer combo on/before July 20, 2009 you are still good for the rebate.

Woo! My first Apple computer. I'm so excited!

Ok, that's good to know. Which comp/printer did you get?
I'm going to get mine soon, hopefully before July 20th.

I got the 13" MBP 2.26GHz, the free iPod Touch and the Canon iP4600.

    My laptop has shipped already!
