    my apple laptop keeps on going into stand by as soon as the sart up screen appers. how do i fix this proplem?

    In System Preferences>Energy Saver, make sure none of the sliders are located at the extreme left end. Also, click on the Shedule button and make sure none of the boxes are ticked.

    If those do not solve your problems, then how long have you had your Mac? Perhaps there is a hardware fault with the lid switch, in which case you would be best off sending it back to AppleCare.

    Stand by as in it goes to Sleep, right? Yeah, go into System Preferences and change your Energy Saver settings, that will fix it!
