    i was thinking of getting a powermack ,,,g4 desktop off ebay...sometimes can pick one up for $200,,with tiger x..
    don,t have the money for a macpro or g5,,,would the g4 be nice for someone that does not have the money for a new one...don,t know much about apple.....ron

    try and acer running windows, i know it you might not like windows :) :(??? but they are affordable and compatable with everything on the market??? i don't know any about mac's other than they are expensive and can't play many games at all

    Go ahead if you really want to, but I'd recommend looking at the MacMini and see if that doesn't fit your budget. The G4 is a slower CPU than the one in the MacMini, and you won't be able to dual-boot (with the G4).

    If you want a Mac, yeah, although the Mac Mini may have a faster processor, you can upgrade the harddrive in the PowerMac, and add more RAM and well the Mini isn't looking as fast as it was.

    thanks for info...two heads are better than one...what i don,t get with a lot of the ebay adds,,,is that some sell the g4 desktop with no software, and then sell the software separatly..i emailed a couple of them,,and stated i want the soffware too.....that really hurts them selling the computer...i am not interested in there computer anymore.
