Notice you can make books in iphoto/aperture.

    $20 for 20 pages.

my question to those who have used it, is it quality?

Not an answer to this question, but I had them print a calendar; and the quality was excellent. As to the pictures, (even the ones iPhoto marked with exclamation marks, to the effect that they could appear at too low a quality on paper) they were all very fine as well.

I have had 4 iPhoto books made and the quality is the best bar none. I made one for my friend's wedding as a gift and not only was he stoked when he saw the Apple label upon delivery he and his wife thought a pro photographer did it and i am as amateur as you can get with my fairly decent digital camera.
For the $20.00 i spent they told me it was the best wedding gift they had gotten and I did all the work from my desktop. :)

You can do alot of different things like that at WalMart for much cheaper. My wife has done some great looking calendars and other stuff from Walmart's online photo Studio.

Oh please how much cheaper do we all need to get? $20.00 for something from Apple that is of very professional quality is very reasonable. On top of that you get to stay at home and create it all in the privacy of your own home.
For goodness sake Walmart?? I see from your sig that you use a Dell so maybe that explains your cheap mentality and why you would recommend Walmart. If you used a Mac then you would understand how great iPhoto is for creating books on the Mac. You place the order right within the iPhoto software and you get beautiful previews of the calendars and books you make.

Wow, a bit harsh, don't you think?

If he wants to save money, more power to him. His choice to save money probably has nothing to do with the fact that he bought an Alienware/Dell over an Apple computer

I wouldn't mind getting something from Walmart either. I've seen their stuff; it's not bad. You can get some pretty good stuff from there. I own an iMac and will be getting a MacBook Pro in a couple weeks as well. The fact that I have Apple computers didn't influence my decision at all.

That being said, however, I have also seen Apple's books. I really liked their quality. I'd definitely recommend them.

The OP wasn't asking for cheap ways to make photo books, he wanted to know how well iPhoto worked in creating the books and if the quality was good. As typical a Windows PC user will visit the Mac forums and recommend not using a Mac to accomplish the same feats for less. I think for $20.00 and iPhoto's greatness it would to be easier if it had been done on a Mac and you're not slave to internet editing or a brick and mortar store.
I apologize for the way I came across but there are too many times that Windows PC users come to this forum and say things like this just to annoy the Mac community and for no other reason.
