    Man they had a bunch in south florida over the weekend at tj maxx and marshalls I just got there too late saw a guy walking out with last one. I hope they get more because at that price it's a steal.

    I heard rumors that these were ipads that didn't pass qa tests and could not be returned but just a rumor nothing confirmed.

    Official published response from TJMX was that these were $499 units they purchased at retail, and then sent to a handful of stores in limited quantities to drive store traffic as a publicity marker. Jobs himself confirmed that these were not acquired from APPL.

    It ended up working beyond their wildest hopes.
