My roommate who works with maya on her windows PC is thinking on buying a mac, but wonders if there is any sort of difference in having maya on a mac rather than on windows ?
does the touchpad play any kew rolls with multi functional finger commands ? does it work better ? does the retina display do any sort of actual visual difference on maya ? etc
thanks

You'll need an external mouse for any actual use of maya in OS X, just like in windows.
Retina display support isn't added to maya yet afaik -
I'd think you'd get better feedback on this question asking in a forum of Maya users.

from an interface point of view, no 0 difference. From a performance / work feel point of view... id say windows feels a lot more responsive. This of course is purely because windows7 as a system and interface is just a lot faster than OS X is, and you can feel that when working with anything really. In terms of Maya itself, no they are identical on both platforms.
