i've just ordered the new MBP with the 128mb graphics card.

for someone who doesnt play games (just the sims or something like that) is the 128mb enough?

im thinking of having this laptop for the next 3-4 years.

so what do u think, should i upgrade it to 256mb?

You will be fine. Mine has 128 and I play WoW with zero issues. There is not a very large performance increase. Although there are reports that the 256 is no longer underclocked, I do not know about the 128.

I don't really want to start a new thread, but would the 128MB version be able to handle Battlefield 2142. Assuming the 256MB and 128MB versions were clocked at the same speed, would I be losing much? I don't really feel like spending the extra dough on the top spec 15" MBP.

    Thanks

WEll, I dunno. You'll really have to see when it gets patched. I've been eharing horror stories about BF2142's stability.
Not sure if it's overreaction or not... but it's what i've heard.
That game looks good, but I won't play it due to built in spyware. Sorry, no thank you.

But 256 will help for games using larger textures. the doom 3 engine could take advantage of it, but many engines will not.

If you are not playing any games that will be more than enough
