    Hey fellas,

I just treated myself to a sweet new Solid State Drive but boot camp apparently does not like the new intel ssd drives. Is there any viable work around for this? Lovin my new mac, but bootcamp was fun for lan parties and such... I hear an EFI firmware might be in order, but in the mean time any alternative would be useful. I find the myself using OSX way more often than windows, and if not for gaming would prob convert most of my machines. Sorry if this is a dupe thread, but i've been searching the net days for info on this.

These drives are going to be popular, i hope other future ssd drives don't have issues with these new nvidia based macs.

I got the intel x25-m (80gb) model and the performance is even faster than the raptor drive I had in my mac pro 2.8ghz 8 core with 16gb of RAM!! Now this is what real hdd speed should of been all this time!

Anyways, currently and sadly there is no way to load windows xp/vista via bootcamp. Somewhere on apple support forums someone managed to install windows vista but the macbook pro's efi system wont pick up the partitioned drive.

So basically we have to wait until apple's next update or efi update as well. This is one of the reasons that I want a Nehalem Mac Pro soon, so I can use the intel x25-m as boot and install a velociraptor on the 2nd trey for windows for some gaming.

bummer... oh well i bought a mac to learn osx anyway so it's all good. This drive is friggin sweet for sure. Just got it today and man install/load times are sick on this thing. I figure the next batch of ssd drives are going to be even better so hopefully the future ones will be compatible.

Ssd is night and day performance wise, wish i had more cash to burn :D I actually have an old school raptor in my gaming rig now, and your right the x-25m smokes it. If these new samsung drives live up to the hype and are compatible with the unibody mac pro i could dump my x-25m in there later.

Thanks for the heads up, i'll be impatiantly waiting for an EFI update! Need a cheaper hobby... :)
