I just ordered a lcd, and want to use it as a monitor with my mbp. I want to get a wireless keyboard and mouse for this setup.

Do i have to buy a keyboard with the mac layout, or can i buy a normal keyboard?

can anyone make any recommendations im trying to spend as little as possible. I don't need any extras

You can use a normal keyboard, although do note that normal keyboards have a Windows key as opposed to a Command key, although the Windows key will be mapped as the Command key in OS X.
I personally recommend a bluetooth keyboard, as that would save you a USB port. However, if USB ports aren't of concern to you, any wireless keyboard should do.

bluetooth keyboards are pricey. If i use a wireless keybaord and wireless mouse will this take up both my usb ports, or can i get a set that goes off one usb port?

If you get a bundle (for example, a Logitech Cordless Desktop set) you will only need to plug in one receiver for both the mouse and keyboard. If you buy the peripherals seperately, you might have to plug in a receiver for each.
