I can't find any info on attempt to install Windows on an Intel iMac yet. It's been out for a couple of weeks now, there gotta be someone who would be interested to try that. Maybe even for the sake of. Anyone knows any updates on this? Thanks

people have been trying, and they have also killed their imacs in the process. Right now xp is VERY HARD to get on the intel macs natively.

Yes - I predict you'll have to wait probably until this summer/end of this year for anything to come out on how to upload XP onto your iMac.

Who says people aren't? Its just really hard to get it working. The main problem is the macs use EFI, and xp uses BIOS. Theres an instant incompatibility right there. Plus a bootloader is needed, but there isn't one to use.

I don't think its safe to put XP on a mac. XP uses BIOS, Mac doesnt. HOWEVER, Windows Vista uses Bios and EFI, so Vista SHOULD slide right on(especially on the new Intel Macs)

Well, I think what he means is that trying to install XP onto a Mac could result in a system crash/failure.

I know that the Mac OS is far surperior to XP (or Windows in general), but if there was ANY way that XP/Windows Vista could be put onto Apple safely, I would IMMEDIATELY buy a MacBook in a heartbeat (and I imagine many other people would too)...dual-booting OS (Mac's and Microsoft's) would be even better!

Well, that would be more like VirtualPC and the most you'd be able to do with that are simple things like Word Processing and general productivity.
