Hi Guys just wondering if some one could tell what actuall driver or setup in the BOOTCAMP drivers functions the Volume Screen/Keyboard buttons.

So far I have found that the BOOTCAMP complete drivers have issues with Win7.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

I installed the bootcamp drivers without problems on Windows 7 (using a Macbook Pro 15.4 inch), just make sure that the installer running from the disk runs in Vista compatibility mode. Alternatively, try to run the installer, have it fail, and then Windows 7 will ask if you want to try running it in compatibility mode.

The only drivers I uninstalled were the Nvidia drivers, because Nvidia has a new Windows 7 optimized version on their website.

Windows 7 runs great on my Macbook Air. No driver issues at all. In fact the screen brightness control turns the screen all the way to off now in RC1 and the volume controls are fine. I noticed during installation of the Bootcamp drivers messages appeared saying there were incompatibilities but I ignored them and finished the install with no issues.

The only problem im having is when using two fingers to right click, it does nothing, but it is checked off in the control panel.

Also, two fingers for scrolling works, just not side to side...

Other than that, everything is great. I can play just about any game I have.

Does MacDrive 7.2.8 work with Win7 RC. I know you can still get it to work with a simple file chain and MacDrive 7.2.5.

Ok remember that you have to have vista installed first for Windows 7 to work properly it will upgrade vista so you dont have to worry about having 3 partitions.... Did you have vista installed already?

I had the same issue. What ever it was it was Video Driver related. Tried evrything to correct the issue. New drivers, driver cleaner, finally a system restore. Still nothing. I ended up doing a fresh install of W7, and no more issue. I assumed the issue was due to doing an upgrade of my previous version of Windows 7 by changing the CDversion file. Note that M$ does not recommend an upgrade from any other version of windows 7. Vista is ok but not WIN 7.

One thing I did notice now is that Ntune 5.5.54 crashes and BSOD's when ai try and accept the user agreement now. Not sure what is hapening there.

There is a leaked version of the bootcamp drivers from Snwo Leopard. Apparently they support HFS+ natively as tsated by apple. So if you want native support for your Mac files while in Win7 give them a try. Installing them now for X64 will report back in a bit.

So I guess we can all get rid of MacDrive now.

    http://www.mechodownload.com/forum/...ootcamp-drivers-built-hfs-64-bit-support.html

***EDIT*** Drivers due not work on Win7 X64. 32 bit they work great. The issues are with Driver Signing. I have tried to disable driver signing, and a work around. And sadly the HFS support from Apple only supports Read only, hopefully RW will be added in the final release.

I tried to install macdrive 7.2.2 or something on the mac, it installed fine but W7 couldn't reboot, it proposed to restore windows. I did it and it worked.

But then, which version of macdrive is compatible with W7 RC x64, if there is one?

BTW, installing the drivers wasn't really strait forward for me, to be polite. fn buttons wouldn't work at first etc
but now it's fine, after a complete evening struggling.

I would rather stab myself with a soldering iron! Being a web designer and trying to compensate for IE6, Im never touching any IE version ever again!

Besides its happening in all browsers.

I have installed twice and its still rooted and locks up. It's o.k. I just don't web browse on it and it's fine. Good to know I'm not the only one having troubles though!

Here are the instructions I used to get Mac Drive to work with Win7. I had a macDrive Serial, but you will get a 15 trial. So enjoy. I din't make these instructions but they did work well for me.

Right, here’s the instructions for how i got Macdrive fully working on Win 7 x64 (and I’m sure this works for 32bit aswell).

The problem is, as discussed before that the program is looking for Vista or XP with SP’s. So what we will is change the installer to look for Win 7.

In order to get this working you will need the latest release of MacDrive and a program called Orca found at http://www.technipages.com/download-orca-msi-editor.html.

    1. Firstly extract the Macdrive exe package using winrar or similar to a directory on your hard drive. You will then have a directory called macdrive_7.2.5_en_setup containing a setup.exe file and 2 folders.

    2. Open the folder named MacDrive and then open on the corresponding folder for your os, in my case x64.en-US. Within this folder you will find the msi installer package.

    3. Open the file MacDrive7.x64.en-US.msi (or x32 one) using the program Orca. You will then be presented with a list of Table commands on the left hand panel, and the description script on the right. Locate LaunchCondition on the Left, and on the right hand side you will see the requirement for the os at install.

    4. On the Third line in the condition panel you will see

    IGNORE_LAUNCH_CONDITIONS Or Installed Or ((VersionNT=501 AND ServicePackLevel>=2) Or (VersionNT=600 AND ServicePackLevel>=1) Or (VersionNT=600 And MsiNTProductType<>3))

Correct me if I’m wrong but the number 600 stand for the windows version. I think 501 is XP Sp2, 502 is Vista SP1 and 600 is Vista x64?

Anyway change the above for the following:

    IGNORE_LAUNCH_CONDITIONS Or Installed Or ((VersionNT=501 AND ServicePackLevel>=2) Or (VersionNT=600 AND ServicePackLevel>=1) Or (VersionNT=601 And MsiNTProductType<>3))

The new number 601 stands for Win 7.

    5. Right that’s the change needed to make this work, so next you need to click on the validate tab (the one with the red tick). This seems to change the code again slightly, not sure what it’s doing.

    6. Save the file as the original.

    7. To install Macdrive just click on the msi file you created. The first time I tried this the install process had an error and it didn’t install completely. So the second time I used the Win 7 compatibility wizard and ran as Vista compatible. Just right click on the file and select “troubleshoot compatibility”.

I now have a fully functioning copy of Macdrive on Win7 x64.
I can’t guarantee this working for everyone, this is my experience with it. I’ve tried upgrading from vista and macdrive was causing failure, I tried using PCmover on the macdrive file and that doesn’t work on x64 to x64.

Let me know how it goes! I'd like to know if this works on 32bit aswell
