    Win7 + Fusion (Using BC partition)

    Hey all,

    I came across the VMware guide on installing W7 from within Fusion.

    However, I'm curious if it is possible to have Fusion recognize my W7 boot camp parititon and create a virtual machine from that?

    With Vista and XP, Fusion was able to automatically detect and set it up for me.

    No luck this time around.

    Any ideas?

    It should work, but make sure the Windows 7 Boot Camp is set up completely, or it might not work. Also, I have XP for Boot Camp and I run it in a VM quite often, and no trouble here. ;) It might just be something with Windows 7's compatibility with VMWare.

    No problem! I have Windows 7 set up as a VM seperate from my XP Boot Camp partition. When/If you go to set up Win 7 as a VM, make sure you choose Windows Vista as your type of OS, because it doesn't have a choice for Win 7. ;) Here is what my VMware window looks like when I open the application:
