So I downed loaded the lastest version of OSX on my 17" MBP. When I do my online banking, it opens up okay, but when I try to go into billpay, OSX apparently closed the banking program. I have Windows loaded on my MBP, and this does not happen on the Windows side. This is not the only time I have had trouble on the OSX side. Flash player, though loaded, sometimes does not work right. There are other glitches. Any clues about what is causing this? Just a Windows universe?

none of my Banks work well with Safari, you can install chrome or FF and give it a try. as for Flash .... just accept that flash is a windows world thing as OSX/iOS is about the only playform Adobe never got it working well in.

if you want to try Chrome with the Pepper API ( Flash for Linux / OSX built in ) I have had good luck with it

Thanks. I have Chrome loaded on the Mac side, but did not think to try it. Is the Pepper API some kind of special Chrome thing?

Basically. Probably a bit too technical for the scope of what you need. The bottom line is - don't use Safari for anything. :p

LOL You would think Apple would be on top of something as basic as banking.

its not about "banking" ... I have 3 banking sites I use that run perfectly on Safari.

Whatever problem your having is most likely a website issue, and you should report it to the bank so they can fix it.

Neither apple nor microsoft "do" banking. Your bank and apple come together on the topic of the web. It's up to both your bank and apple to conform to web standards so that you can use your bank's web platform. Things would almost certainly be worse in windows if you were resigned to using internet explorer. Either way, chrome or firefox tend to be highly compatible. Chrome does not depend on having flash player installed for flash content, so that may sidestep whatever flash player bugs you are experiencing.

Don't blame iTunes for Justin Bieber.

I've never had a problem with online banking with Safari through three of my banks so far including my recent credit union account I just opened. I can transfer funds and pay bills without issue.

Have you tried doing a clean install? If it is a PTD, take it to the apple store and they do it for free. I think that they start off with the Recovery partition as FAT32 before they convert it to Mac OS journal.

What in the world gives you that idea? I typically use IE exclusively, and have never seen a problem. Hint: Everybody makes sure their stuff works with IE. Anything else comes after that.

Internet Explorer 6.0 is what gave him the idea. Were it not for alternative browsers breaking Microsoft's monopoly, we'd have a very, very different web today. The competition has been good for everyone. Even Internet Explorer users.

That is simply not true anymore. In fact, it's often the other way around. Code for the standards and then make sure that whatever version of Internet Explorer you've decided to support isn't broken.

I guess it all depends on who you bank with. My bank's online services work just fine on IE, Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. I also have no problems accessing them on Safari for iOS.
