It's not. It's just there to sap your battery life.

If you needed to use F keys before (eg developer), new TB sucks ass.

If you never cared about the F keys, you probably don’t care except when you need to press escape, Alt F4, F5 for refresh and have to do it looking down and have no feedback, but you can probably live with it.

Some people seem to find use in some creative apps, like the oversized track pad which I don’t like as much as the old.

Even Apple don’t like it it seems, seeing as 2 years on, the Touch Bar hasn’t been extended to any other product, no Touch Bar external keyboard etc.

I've said this before in other threads I'll say it again, The Touchbar is as useful as Siri on a computer...

Good to know. I also noticed that apple are having issues with the screens cracking on the MBP touchbar editions. NO THANKS.

Have it on my work laptop. Never use it other than to hit Escape and to mess with the volume from time to time.

I wouldn't say that the touch bar is the most life changing innovation Apple has created, and if you really need to use the F-keys a lot it can be a pain (had to do this for school once). However for everyday use my favourite feature of the touch bar would have to be the volume slider and the brightness slider. If only the volume slider would stop freezing the touch bar.....

The Touch Bar doesn't use a significant amount of power. It is pretty much indiscernable amounts of power consumption, after watching the System Total wattage in iStat for 10 minutes or so.
