After much research, I have decided to get either the 12" or the 14" iBook. The problem is, I don't know which one to get. I would like the bigger screen of the 14" but its a little heavy side for me. I'm 14 and i'm pretty short (5') so I'm thinkin of getting the 12". I will use the iBook primarily for word processing and surfing the web. Which brings me to another question. Should I get the iWork or Microsoft Office for Mac?

    Thanks in advance!

OpenOffice is free and I think there is for Mac. If you are carrying it around a lot, lighter is usually better. The text size will be smaller.

I'd get the twelve not only for the weight issue, but for the screen. The 14" iBook offers the same resolution as the 12" so by making the upgrade you're not getting more screen real estate...it's the same screen but everything will just be bigger. Also, I would get Office for Mac (just out of personal preference), but OpenOffice would be fine. Don't get iWork, I think it's weak in comparison. Good luck!

OpenOffice is an office suite that is compatible with Microsoft Office. Meaning it will allow you to open/save .doc, .xls, .ppt, etc files without losing any formatting. Unless you are a power user or have a specific need for Office, I think OpenOffice will do fine for you. Plus it is also free.
