    Hey..

    I'm about to buy my first MacBook Pro in August/September - I will buy Aperture 2 and use it with my Nikon D80 Raw files - which version will suit my needs best? The 15" with 265mb videocard og 512mb? I'll probably install XP, to be able to play Counter Strike and The Sims 2..

    I have looked all over, to find a review of the newest Pro-line (the multi-touch-gesture-line) but can't find any..

    Thank you in advance
    Alexander

    Well as far as I know the 8600M which is what the MBP comes with if I'm not mistaken has a 128-Bit Interface, which means even though it has 512MB it can't use it. It can only use 256MBs so don't bother upgrading.

    Its like you have a man making sandwiches if you give him extra ingredients it doesn't mean his going to be able to produce more if he only has a pair of hands.

    Are you saying extra bacon on your sandwich is to be frowned upon?

    Oh ok :)

    I have one more question then;
    I currently have the regular MacBook, but I'm very dissatisfied with the quality of it .. the casing where the screen meets the wrist rest cracks after only two months - on both macbooks I've had.
    Is the baseline Pro any better than the MacBook at handling Aperture and about 5000 images?
    How big an advantage is the extra resolution taken into account that the screen is 15"?
    Hope you guys can help me..

    Thanks,
    Alexander
