Which instant messaging program do you guys use? I used to use msn on windows and I just found out no IM programs on Mac support video conferencing (webcam) with audio and video enabled...

    hands down Adium.
And what are you talking about no mac programs support video conferencing?
    iChat supports it just fine.

    **edit**
that is unless you are still trying to use MSN (why oh why would you want to stay with MSN anyway???)

Because most of his friends use it? that would be reason enough. I dislike MSN with passion, the interface is clumsy and it is full of ads. But I use it (its network I mean, I use Adium on OSX and Gaim on Windows and Linux) since that is what most people I know use, unfortunately. I have never even used iChat because I happen to know 0 people that use it.

But anyways, Mercury messenger is a multiplataform Java client that is supposed to work with the webcam in MSN. Also Skype for Mac can do video. Give them a try.

Hrm, yeah, I guess thats a reason to stay. I'd make everyone move over :p

I forgot ichat only works with aim. I like the loof/feel of it, but I have so many people on my friends lists, and ichat just removes the organization of it completely.

I use Adium for chat and then Skype for video. The video on Skype is really good.

I use yahoo and Skype for video/audio. I don't use ichat because I can't stand aim.

Does Adium support the major messengers without having to reinvite or readd friends?

It should allow you to import yoru friends if they're stored on the network.
I think it can do MSN and yahoo, not sure of any others.
