The absolute cheapest ones will be on craigslist. The cheapest ones you'll find from a reputable dealer would be the apple store under refurbished models or Amazon. You can also pick up a good deal on the NBR board here. Most people who buy/sell here are reputable as well.

Do you want the MacBook or the MacBook Pro? Either way, your question was already answered as you can find new products on Craig's List and other auction sites. The least expensive retail price I have come across is $999 for the base Core i5 MacBook Pro at Microcenter. You can only buy it in the actual stores, the deal isn't available online.

As far as new, yeah Best Buy or something is going to be your best bet(see how I did that?) If you want a decent MacBook for gaming I'd tell you to look at the MacBook Air. If you can wrestle up another $400, which is my recommendation, get the newer new Sandy Bridge MacBook Pro. I have the exact model Kornchild has and I love it...with a Momentus XT in there, it's easily my favorite laptop I've ever owned and I do a fair amount of gaming on it. Like WoW, Eve Online, and Rift on bootcamp.

    Try these prices.
Mac Mall and MacConnection are both very reputable online sellers, and I've found their pricing to be really favorable.

See the price comparison charts here:

Unless you happen to live in a state with an Amazon distribution facility, then they will charge taxes.

Still, even after all is said and done, Microcenter has the least expensive option for the MacBook Pro at $999 for a new 2011 model. I have yet to see anyone match that price.
