Hey guys, I was just streaming this 500+MB video of Starcraft II off their website, and I was wondering:

Since the video is completely streamed, that means its downloaded, right?

Where would I find the file on my HDD??

I wouldn't want to have to download the whole 500+MB again.

    Cheers! :D

I'm pretty sure when you stream something you are not actually downloading it.

I'm not sure, but I think that it would be like a YouTube video and the only difference would be that it's live. ;)

Browse to the site in Safari
    Start streaming the video
Go to Window > Activity (⎇⌘A).
Browse the hierarchy until you find the .flv file (or anything you are interested in) should look something like the picture below:

    Highlight and ⌘C
Go to Window > Downloads (⎇⌘L)
    and paste ⌘V

In most cases it should start downloading the file.

It also might show up in Safari's cache, somewhere in: ~/Library/Caches

    Thanks!

I pretty much knew about the Activity window, and your method is totally legit, but that means I have to download the 500MB+ again.

After the whole thing already completed streaming in the browser.

I figured I'd find a file in Caches and just drag it onto my Desktop.

And yes, completely streamed videos are stored on the HDD. Take this example: you stream a youtube video and then just close the lid of your computer. Put it in your backpack, go to a place with no Internet. Open your computer, the video is still there, and you can play it back just fine. That means it's downloaded on your HDD.

    Cheers! :D

Yeah...you can find any video in activity window, but you actually have to be on the internet to dl it.

    Very useful tool.

If you have handbrake, you can convert it and switch it over to itunes to watch on ur iphone :p

Looks like a reverse image of the Alt symbol on the Mac keyboard.
