I would guess October, around the time of Leopard.

Considering the MacBooks just got speed increases, it will be a few months until there is another update. From past experiences, Apple does this every six months or so.

I'm hoping it will match the release of Leopard as well. The 15" MBP is nice, but I prefer the smaller size of the MB. If nothing new on the MB front when Leopard comes out, I'll probably just bite the bullet and go for the MBP :p

I doubt it'll come in October since it'll only be 5 months and Apple usually takes more than that to give significant updates. I'm just guessing that it's only an OS update.

I think Apple wanted to differentiate between the MacBook and MacBook Pro by not offering Santa Rosa on the MacBook. Many people complained that the MacBook was just as powerful as the MacBook Pro, only lacking a graphics card, yet was $1000 cheaper than the MacBook Pro. With the recent MacBook Pro update, Apple offers Santa Rosa, LED screens and the NVIDIA GeForce 8600 onto the MacBook Pro, boosting its "worth" for the price.

But the current Core 2 Duos are very powerful already, and Apple won't update the MacBook for a while, at least until October.

I would say a while. They finally have good separation between the two lines and I think they will want to keep it that way.

no one blames seperation, but lack of middle lines. like we have 8600G, GS, GT. I prefer small sceen with better video card, at least Intel X3100.

Well, we'll have to wait for that ;).

There's a rumour about a Special Event happening in July, possibly new iMacs and iPods...maybe that ultraportable Mac will finally arrive.

Theres always a rumour. I never believe any of them until His Jobsness announces them onstage.

I think its good now that they have a seperation between the two lines. Its a pity that the Mac faithful need to suffer with GMA950 for 5 months longer though ;)
