    Sorry...know it's been asked before.
I'd just like to get the LED backlit screen in a MB if possible but don't want to wait forever.

I know no one really knows, but anyone willing to hazard a guess?
    thanks

According to the buyers guide average number of days between refreshes, theres 2-3 weeks until the next one for iMac's. I'm holding off until March (grudgingly).

Well, I don't expect an updated MacBook for at least two-three months, seeing it was last updated in November, so its too early now.

Apple could just skip the Penryn update and update for the Montevina platform around May-July 2008...but yeah, I don't expect any update soon.

Considering that the MBP hasn't been updated with Penryn yet, I can't see it happening with the Macbook for at least another 6 months, judging on the time between the MBP and MB Santa Rosa updates. My guess is that it may get a slight redesign (its the only non-aluminium Apple computer now!) and LED-screens etc etc then.

so is the consensus that it is likely at least until April before the MB gets an LED screen?

Maybe not April, but I wouldn't expect one this month or next. March is possible.

I agree with Revolution. I don't think the Macbook will get multi-touch, an aluminum case (if this even happens), or LED backlit displays before Fall. It might not even be until next year that we see some of that stuff in the Macbook.
