well I happen to be relatively new to mac. My first experiences were bliss. I love how easy it is to use. Any computer illiterate can pick this up right away. I am purchasing a laptop in august just before school, so my experiences are from my uncle's computer and the mac store. I haven't yet figured out the drives, and where things go on the computer. You can get ms word, and all of the microsoft office products for mac. Check out a great webpage like journeyed.com or you college book store if you're a student these are remarakable. Otherwise just go to your local webpage or apple.com i suppose. Basically if you like games and aren't willing to accept change, don't bother. I am gettin a mac for the security and dependabliity. I do feel that I can pick up the os quickly and if I set my mind to it, most say you will find tons of new "windows" of opportunity will open up. Unix if a fantastic os that osx is based upon. Hope my inexperienced-ness helps
