I remember seeing an application to store notes that had a little tab on the left side of the screen and when you put your mouse on it, it would slide out and you could type some notes on it.

It's kind of a mix between SideNote and Yojimbo. (It's not them though) SideNote doesn't have the tab, and Yojimbo's tab is just for dragging data into, not typing.

Does anyone know the app I'm talking about?

I don't know that particular application, but why not use stickies? I ask because, if you use quicksilver, it's probably faster just to open up stickies and type your little note, since this can be done easily all with the keyboard (which is a lot faster than a mouse, for me at least). Are you talking about writing little notes, or a lot of text?

I think this app is meant to be a replacement for Stickies, but instead of lying around on your desktop, it hides in the corner of your screen until you need it.

Nah, it's not Edgies. Instead of looking like Stickies, it's "tab" looks white and transparent like the Yojimbo one.
