I did post this in the Dell section ,but I want both ends of the argument!

What would be better for me in general.

    1) Get unibody Macbook Pro 2.4ghz

    2) Get Dell Studio Xps + Imac 2.66ghz 9400m gt

    * It makes more sense to me to get a Laptop and desktop for the same price as a Macbook Pro. As I would love to try Snow Leopard when it comes out!

I posted in your other topic too, so I'll repost that here as well:

    Not enough information.
What do you plan on using the Mac for?

I would personally opt for the other way around of option 2.
    PC Desktop + 13" Macbook.
PC desktop will be far more capable than a Mac desktop performance wise, and then you get a 13" Macbook which will be much higher quality than the Dell laptop. Then you're truly getting the best of both worlds.

    Depends heavily on OSX.

Hardware wise, the build quality of the unibodies is unmatched. Just awesome machines.

Software wise, if you rely on software that is only designed for windows, or if the mac equivalents don't do what you want, then it's a no brainer, get the dell.

If however you like OSX, and can do everything you need to on a mac without any problems, then get a mac.

I converted to Mac in February, and I haven't regretted it once. Mac's are truly amazing machines. However, your mileage may vary.
