Say I currently have a 320GB Hard Drive. I separate it into 2 separate partitions of 64GB and the rest on the other.

What will happen if I were to get a new HD and I want to transfer everything over?

Basically, I have MacOSX and I want to install W7 in a separate partition of about 64GB or maybe less.

I want to upgrade to 500GB HD, and keep all the info and data I already have on my current HD.

I'm guessing the best way to do this is to just reinstall mac OSX and W7 and transfer the files over? What about programs?

    Thanks in advance!

Reinstall programs I suppose. Regardless of how you obtained the programs, you most likely have the install files/dvds/cds somewhere.

Carbon Copy Cloner will work great for the Mac OS X partition of your hard drive, but you will need a program like WinClone for your Boot Camp partiton. CCC will copy your ENTIRE OS X part of your HDD over to your new one, and WinClone will do the same thing from your Boot Camp partition. ;)

Install your OS X clone first, then partition then install your win clone. I would guess, I've never tried.

Boot Camp Assistant will ask you how you want to partition your HD.

So I can clone everything over after I made the new partitions...?

Transfer all your needed files on the second partition and find a way to transfer it to another hard disk whether it be external or internal. No need to worry because if you format the partition with the OS, it won't effect the files in the other partition..
