Sound off! Are the updated MacBooks and MBP's a decent update?

Seems like they just aimed to stay on the current edge, nothing really dramatic. But since the price points didn't move (I don't think), seems like a nice little bump. The optional Apple Remote for another $19 is bogus, though. Not a fan of that move - Apple stresses how everything works "out of the box," and I think it's sad to see them charge for a great feature of the Mac.
On a side note - I see they've bumped the VRAM specs for the 8600M GT cards - did they actually get more RAM on the cards, or are they just taking into account nVidia's TurboCache technology? I wasn't aware that they had increased the VRAM for the 8600... -
Not much changed Penryn and an LED backlit display for the 17".

While it is a nice boost, I was hoping for more. It actually is a bit too soon for an update in my opinion... Apple should have waited for a newer chipset to arrive (i.e. Montivenia).
Actually I was hoping for some sort of update for the Mac Mini. I'm looking into getting one but the hardware in those desperately needs an update. -
The HDD and video RAM was a surprise. The base models are priced much more fairly now, and LED on the screen on the 17 inch is great. Sucks that I needed this MBP a couple of months back, but oh well, so is the way of computers. Obsolete as soon as you buy.
Do you think I would be able to sell this one for $2000 CND? -

Well now the lower end model's video card is no longer castrated with just 128mb of memory so now it should actually be able to do some gaming, so a major improvement in that respect.

why didn't they change the keyboard...
btw, old MBP refurb also decreased, the base model is know 1450 on apple store...
