Actually, I find it quite annoying that I can't find a "Lock computer" feature in Leopard.

Screen saver isn't going to work (3 minutes? wtf?) I only want to lock the computer when I need it to keep running (eg: Transmission) and I'm leaving it. Otherwise, I would just close it and put it to sleep.

    Any solutions?

in the system prefs you can set an option for it to require the user password to log back in. and you can set a hot corner to start the screen saver whenever you want.

System preferences -> security-> general -> require password to wake this computer from sleep or screensaver.

Yeah, I use a Hot Corner as well. Whenever I need to set it right to the screen saver (where it needs a password to get back in), I just move my cursor to the far top left corner, and it goes right to screensaver. You can set what Hot Corners you want in System Preferences > Dashboard & Expose.

another method is to open Keychain Acces, go to its preferences and check "show status in menu bar".

that will had a padlock symbol to the menu bar where one of the options under it is lock screen. when you try to access the computer again it will ask for password. Even if "require password from screensaver or sleep" is unchecked.

yet another method is to go to system preferences>accounts>login options and check enable fast user switching. it will then add another menu to the menu bar (can choose between user name, or icon). then select the icon and choose login window.

personally i prefer these methods over the screensaver hot corner b/c it is to easy to accidentally activate it through use.

Thanks, This is the method I will use..

Also guys, thanks for the tip about the hot corners but I don't want it to accidentally go into screensaver every time my cursor hits that corner inadvertently.
