Since I will be selling my hard disk immediately upon arrival of my new Macbook, I would like to know what hard disk brand they are using for the new Macbooks.
Anyone knows? Google wasn't my friend today.
-
My MBP (early 2008 model) has a fujitsu drive
-
Ours has a Fujitsu
-
ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
My brand new MB has a Toshiba 250GB.
-
They must have grabbed us the old stocker because ours had Fujitsu
Dont you hate the sales men they are pretty nifty they give you old stocker after you paid. -
ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Well, not quite. Apple is probably like every other OEM company when it comes to internal components....
They have contracts with multiple manufacturers to ensure that plenty of components are available on-site the minute they need to be installed. Dell is famous for having distribution warehouses immediately adjacent to the assembly plants where everything is stocked and waiting to be driven across the street.
What this proves is that they at least have contracts with Fujitsu and Toshiba and that ours were likely assembled on different days. -

Agreed, but I cannot hear my 250 unless my ear is literally 1" from the palmrest, and then just barely. My Asus wasn't this quiet!

I've got a Toshiba in my new macbook. Runs extremely quiet and stays quite cool too
-
The 160GB is probably one platter, that makes it extra quiet and cool. -
In case anyone still cares, my new MacBook has the Fujitsu drive. Apple is obviously just using two hard drive ODMs.

Fujitsu is what I got
What Hard Disk Brand does Apple use for its New Macbooks?
