The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. actually, i believe that i have heard this before. the yonah is technically 64-bit, but they disabled teh 64-bit capability....i don't think that you can turn it on or at least no one has figured out how to.

perhaps intel just didn't include the 64-bit extensions in the core duo?

Wait a minute, you're telling me people JUST found out about this? I thought everyone knew it was actually a 64bit processor, it's just disabled. I knew this since before summer came around.

It's just a matter of figuring out if the disabling factor is physical or not.
