I just looked at apples store and for the 2.2 15.4 inch it is 1699 for refurbished.

Thats only 100 bucks less than a new one with student discount plus you get 200 worth of an ipod and a 100 buck printer.

I thought refurbished models were less before?

Well, the thing is, refurbished prices stay the same for both regular customers and students, and that makes this $300 cheaper than the new MBP for regular customers.

Not everyone is a student, you must remember ;)

The first time I heard the 2.2GHz was available as a Refurb was here and the price tag was US$1,699. But by the time I actually went Apple's website, they were gone.

Yeah but I mean how many people are there that not only aren't a student, teacher, or parent of a student, but don't know anybody like that either? :D

Apple gets much more sales at regular price than with the student discount...

I think im going to go with the a new macbook pro for 1799 w/ free printer and ipod and probably sell the ipod for like 100-150 bucks...

Im just not sure whether i should get the 120 gb or uprade to the 160, then i gotta wait a few weeks.

Well, a bigger hard drive is probably better if you are going to run Boot Camp/use dual OS', since you will lose 30GB *minimum* to formatting and OS installation. However, for the same $75 price tag of the 160GB upgrade (from an already reasonable 120GB) you can probably find a good 160 or 250GB external hard drive, so that is what I would do, since it offers a lot more storage space than just the extra 40GB.

Yeah ill do that. I already have a 160gb external hdd from a couple years back but it is bigger than a brick...

BTW, im using safari for windows right now and its absolutely amazing! :D

Question though, does it have built in spell check?

Be wary of the printer rebate. Last time I checked, when I brought up the rebate form, the fine print said that it had to be turned in sometime in July.

Read the form before you buy a printer you cannot get a rebate on if money is tight.
