    HI,

I am intending to buy the next revision of the Apple Imac's and replace my macbook pro, however, I still need something to take to lessons at school for word documents etc. I cannot afford to have an apple laptop and imac so do you guys know of any alternative for my problem?

Used iBooks cost around $300 - $400. They're incredibly cheap and will do word documents just fine.

    iBook G4 on eBay

So you're selling your Macbook for the iMac? Work it out if it'd be cheaper to keep the iMac and Macbook Pro, or get the iMac, sell the MBP and buy a Macbook.

Or you could get an iBook as said above.

As others said, you could get yourself an iBook G4, which is cheap and will handle word processing tasks just fine. Or you could look into getting a refurbished MacBook if its within your budget. Or you could leave the iMac at the dorm/your home and bring something called paper to classes ;).
