About 10 months ago I bought a Macbook (a "blackbook"), mostly as an experiment to see if I could benefit from some exposure to the Mac OSx. I knew I'd also be running Vista on it and wouldn't have bought it without the ability to do so.

Well, without wanting to cause a flame war around here :) , suffice it to say that the benefits of the Mac OSx have, to date, largely eluded me. I've learned that "different" isn't necessarily "better" - just "different" - and I find that I'm usually running Vista on the Macbook through Bootcamp rather than running Mac OSx on it. (Believe me, I've plenty of gripes about Windows too, but just haven't found Mac OSx to be any materially better... just a bit "different", exchanging one set of OS gripes for another...)

One big problem, though, while trying to run Vista on my Macbook, is the lack of a right click button for the touchpad. Yes, I know, I'm supposed to simply be able to place two fingers on the touchpad and then click the one button to bring up Vista's right click menu - but what usually happens instead when I try to do this is that when I do click on the one button with my two fingers in place on the touchpad, rather than simply "staying put" and bringing up the right click menu, the cursor & screen scrolls wildly out of control to someplace entirely different, generally leaving me lost. Is there any other "more stable" way of bringing up the right click menu when running Vista on a Macbook?

    Thanks,
    r-gordon-7

Might be able to "control" click and get right click menu. I'm learning os x for the first time and find I can do it either way, two finger click or "control" click to bring up right click menu. Granted, it's os x, but might work in Windows. I just haven't gotten windows in yet, still learning my way around new MBP.

    Thanks for the reply.

I don't know whether "ctrl clk" is supposed to work in Windows to bring up the right click menu, but it doesn't do so in practice - at least not on my Macbook running Vista in bootcamp...

I find the touchpad drivers to be rather finicky in Vista. I hope Apple creates tighter integration and better BootCamp software in the future, but we'll have to wait and see.

Yea I have to agree with JWest, for me the touchpad is overly sensitive in bootcamp.

Although you should come to us with your gripes about OSX, we might be able to help you figure them out, or have solutions.
