    Hi,

Recently I just bought Leopard and installed it. It is running great. However now that Bootcamp is out of Beta, I am contemplating buying Vista tomorrow for my gaming/school apps partition. I previously had been running Windows XP on Bootcamp which ran nicely.

My question is, will Vista have a significant impact on battery life and performance on my macbook pro 2.33 than XP did? Will the laptop heat up faster? Are there any known issues with having an external display? And lastly, will I see a reduction to gaming performance? (mainly WoW/CS:S)

Also, if I install Fusion, how does Vista work compared to XP? Will I need to buy Ultimate in order to virtualize it or can I use home premium?

I know there are quiet a few questions. I appreciate your help in advance!
    -Thanks

i dont think i stand alone in saying vista does not work, my advice would be to avoid it, and keep xp! vista = blue screen of death + software & hardware incompatibilities + worse security (i found a wireless flaw that says your connected to a secure passcode network when your not, i was connected to my neighbours insecure network!) + i could go on (well i did in an amazon review :) ), but theres very little reason to add it accept a bunch of "features" (aka eye candy - the most overused phrase i know) that you dont need.

I would stay away from Vista unless you really want to use it. It still seems to have some major issues with compatibility. XP still seems more solid at this point, so much so that MS is allowing manufacturers to sell XP until June of next year.

I thought I saw a guide regarding Boot Camp and Vista 64-bit on this forum a few months back...if so, then that may be of interest regarding the 64-bit support.

Yeah, if you look around you can find 64-bit drivers for most of what you need. I'm not sure if there are 64-bit iSight drivers. My point was that Boot Camp does NOT officially support 64-bit Windows of any flavor.

I've been running Vista Ultimate 32-Bit Edition on my 2.4GHz Macbook Pro for about two weeks now. It runs flawlessly just as if it were on a regular notebook pc. I haven't had a single BSOD or any kind of driver issues period...

Then again I keep my OS clean and tidy so I know exactly what is happening to it. Just make sure if you do, to use the laptopvideo2go.com GPU drivers as the Apple provided bootcamp ones are pretty old.
