Could someone please share their experiences with using full body vinyls skins/decals on the mbp? Some on this forum had told that they experienced heating issues.. could it be due due their mbp being one of the worse of the production line.

And also has anyone used this vinyl. i wanted to know if the extended white region was the same as the transluscent logo.

    thanks in advance..!

I'll update what info i get.

    Update:

    Stores:

If you're looking for vinyl skins for the MBP check out these sites:
    • Etsy - have loads of design to chose from and inexpensive as well. (thanks ajreynol)
    • Gelaskins - They have mostly artistic skins but offer you the option to design your own skin. Expensive too.

    Known Problems:

A friend of mine said that the vinyl and zagg on his MBP peeled of when he travelled to India from the US. The peeling started when he'd been here a month. His other mbp back home with similar outfit remained in good condition. Probably due to the rise in temp/humidity over here. He stayed in a coastal area.

I personally would not use the "full" body vinyl - The lid being covered is fine, but the bottom of the case, of any notebooks, should be left open, especially around vent holes.

    cheers ...

Are you talking about cases or Vinyl skins?

Vinyl skins (which is what you linked us to) are alright to use as they are nothing more than a thin "sticker". Just don't cover up any vent holes. The 2010 and 2011 MBP's ventilation system is located in the hinge for the display lid and I don't think any vinyl skin offering out there covers that up.

@Macaddict2011 im talking about vinyl skins

Could some please tell me if the white region of the 2 smaller apples in the food chain stands out from the bigger apple. Or if they look similar.. actually i just wanna know if it's a good choice or if it'll look akward in reality =)

I dunno about vinyls but I bought a Speck Case for mine and never looked back. They protect and have heat vents. Sure mine doesn't look all purdy but it'll be protected from my two retarded boxer's claws!

I highly doubt anyone here has that exact skin. You would need to contact the seller (which is not Amazon, it is just sold through their Market service) for better pictures as the one on Amazon's site doesn't show anything. All I see on my system is what looks like Apple's white logo but it is scratched out. Get more information from the seller or start looking for different solutions. There are tons of sites that sell vinyl skins for Apple products as it is a lucrative market.

My thought exactly on the small white logos. I was hoping someone might have similar white vinyl and could explain how the white turns up. The black is supposed to be black matt and is the same one used on cars.

A friend of mine said that the vinyl and zagg on his MBP peeled of when he travelled to India from the US. The peeling started when he'd been here a month. His other mbp back home with similar outfit remained in good condition. Probably due to the rise in temp/humidity over here. He stayed in a coastal area.

etsy offers both but if you're after full cover skins then i'd suggest gelaskin to be ur best bet.
