For some reason when I installed Windows on my MAC OSX, I could not access OSX by hitting the "alt" key upon start up. However I was able to access MAC OSX by hitting Ctrl Option O F, which is supposedly supposed to let you talk to the EFI or whatever controls the OSX layer. Also it would always default boot into windows.

Also Windows was all messed up and was not working correctly and frequently has to "repair" because it could not boot properly into windows. Also Windows thinks I have a Dell, but I used a dell install CD-ROM so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.

In OSX I made it so that the default disk is OSX when I was finally able to get back into OSX. Right now I'm not sure if it was a fluke that I was able to acesss OSX or not. So I'm not sure if I should just delete the Windows partition so it would no matter what boot into OSX.

Also my Windows partition does not recognize OSX and it does not recognize anything other the Windows partition of the hard drive, and it does not have any boot camp drivers installed.

So this is super annoying as you can see. I also do not have the Mac OSX install DVD because I am in college and it is at my house.

This is quite normal I think, since the other partition is formatted in HFS which is not supported/recognized bij Windows Systems.

you must hold down the Alt key like right at the second the chime sounds, and never let it back up until you see the boot selection screen.

legality issues aside... yes a Dell disc is customized to say Dell all over the place.

In the MS world, nothing exists except MS... Windows will not recognize anything else, because MS doesn't want to help their competition in any way... they want people to stick with Windows only.

If you don;t install the bootcamp drivers, Windows will run horribly... and you cannot select default boot drives or anything from Windows without it.

You should ALWAYS keep that disc nearby... get someone to send it to you.
