I need some help. I searched the forum, but didn't find the exact reference that would help me. My problem is I'm trying to delete VMware Fusion from my MBP. I get it into the trash and when I try to empty the trash I get a message that states: The operation cannot be completed because the item vmware is in use.

What do I do to get the program completely off my computer?

    Thanks.

run the uninstall program that comes with the program... it will fully remove it.. don't just drag to trash

Yep, usually the "big" programs have an uninstall package, such as Adobe CS, Aperture, Final Express, Microsoft Office for Mac, etc. that you have to pay a nice chunk of change for. ;) Some small programs and add-ons don't have an uninstall package, and simply have to drag it to the trash. It's always best to look for an uninstall package when trying to get rid of a program, and if you can't/don't find one, try the trash. ;)
