I read a thread a while ago about it coming to Macs, i'm just wondering if this has happened yet, or if it will happen anytime soon.

The OSX port of uTorrent is still in progress. You can still run uTorrent using an emulator (Wine LOL). I currently use Azureus, which is a bit resource hogging, but has all the advanced functionality that I need.
-
Is that the only torrent client available for OS X?
-
Probably no, but it works very great (but it takes more RAM than µTorrent).
-
I use Transmission for OS X. It's very low resources when compared to the other clients out there and they're adding in all those special advanced features as they go(usually a weekly update).
-
Thanks system, I was looking for something that was moderately low on resources. I'll try that out for sure.
-
i recommend transmission also, there have been some issues with azureuz causing kernal panics, etc.
and the latest transmission update was pretty significant.
I don't torrent at all on my mac, my Fujitsu is always at home running uTorrent. maybe I would if uTorrent was available for it -
stealthsniper96 What Was I Thinkin'?
I third transmission.

I haven't been following Transmission's development, but does the latest version (1.05?) support DHT and transport encryption?
-
EDIT: Supports transport encryption but not DHT at this time. -
The 1.05 update came out a week or so before the new encryption was implemented in uTorrent, so perhaps 1.06 will have it.
Transmission does a great job though. Not as good as uTorrent, but it's getting there.
Demonoid blocked transmission's use though for a long time, but I was able to use it right before they closed down.
Keep in mind there are a few more apps (Tomato for example), but they aren't as feature filled.
Edit; I was thinking of the new encryption that was just announced this last week, so now I feel kinda stupid. It's way behind on encryption.
Utorrent for OS X: Did it ever happen?
