Is there a way to make it work? Alternatively, if using iChat AV can you have a video conversation with someone using MSN Messenger on a PC?

Two ideas. It seems that maybe the new Yahoo! IM for Mac may be able to do video with MSN. Also, Skype 2, which is in beta should be able to do it. Skype on both sides of course. In any event it will all change when MSN gets shut down later this year.

I think Mercury also works with MSN and video. What is that about shutting MSN down, cashmonee?

aMSN and Mercury messenger both have webcam features.

Or you can always boot into Windows and use its MSN Messenger

From what I hear you have until October'ish to switch over to Windows Live Messenger. So MSN will still exist, just in the form Live. Now, I don't use either MSN or Live Messenger, but I would assume there must be some differences.

Other than the fact that Windows Live Messenger doesn't exist for Mac OSX.

    Annoying as hell.

I'm sure Adium will be adapted to the new format as soon as possible.

As for the iSight, so far I've only ever heard of it working in iChat as far as video chat goes.
