Is it possible to upgrade the 15" unibody MacBook Pro screen (1440x900) to a 15" 1680x1050 screen? Not concerned if it voids the warranty or not, just wondering if it can be done.

I dont think it can be done because there are no screens of that res that will actually fit on the MBP.

Check out Screentek ( http://www.screentekinc.com/index.shtml) if you can put it in a macbook they will have it. They also have walk throughs on how to replace alot of different laptop screens, provide call in assistance if you need while you do your own screen, or you can ship your laptop to them and they will do it... Really cool place.

Welcome to the reason I sold my 15" and bought my 17". A little drastic, sure, but gah the 1440x900 res is just downright awful. I got so sick to death of the "jagged text" look. I wish Apple would see that 1680x1050 is a much, much better res for a 15".

Yeah, I was a bit disappointed going from my 13" MacBook at 1280x800 to the 15" at 1440x900. I would have loved to get the 17", but my pockets just aren't that deep. :)

Although at the same time, I was looking at the 1920x1200 17" at Best Buy, and everything looked so tiny! :) Even websites looked kind of weird, since almost none are designed specifically for that high a resolution. Do your eyes ever tire looking at everything so small?
