I have a base UMP and I went through the basic steps of upgrading video drivers - uninstall, reboot, install new...

However, when I did this process, the install portion would barf. It would say something like "can't find hardware" or "not the right driver"... something along those lines.

Should I just install the latest from NVIDIA without uninstalling first?

uninstall your current display driver. For an unknown reason, nvidia's official notebook drivers do not support my graphics card. You could do what i did. Basically i went on www.laptopvideo2go.com and went to the drivers section and selected the most popular/stable one. Once you have downloaded it, download the modded inf file associated with it. It's on the same page where you downloaded your driver. Then extract your downloaded driver. Once done, paste the modded inf file in the folder. Then run the setup.exe from the folder. Your laptop driver should be installed after your laptop has been restarted.
