    Uninstall OLD norton for NEW

    Ok I had Norton Anti-Virus but got a NEW total package norton internet security and tried to install it but I CANT get rid of the old Norton. I removed it from the applications menu but Im new to mac this year and I know there must be another place to remove programs totally from. Any help?

    uniunstall it then dont install a new one...
    Norton is terrible, casues more harm than good.. and you are in OSX... you should be safe... no one writes virus for macs any way...

    Actually, NIS 2009 is pretty good compared to the past versions. Although I still wouldn't use it. As he said though OP, you're on a Mac. You're fine without an AV.

    Ok I'm gonna do a full reinstall....how do I backup iphoto and imovie?

    Also when I do the reinstall what steps should I take to prepare besides backup? Should I sign out of anything etc?

    How long will it take to do?

    i dont own a mac,
    I think imovie and iphoto are built into osx or ilife (whichi m assuimg is on the disc)...
    so... idk, 1hr tops is my guess...

    Gahhh Norton makes me mad there Anti Virus software is a freaking virus!, It destroyed my windows PC. and made it impossible to uninstall.

    Macs don't need virus protection yet :cool:
