    Zipeg or BetterZip or other?

Anyway to give a little more info on them:

Zipeg: 75% C, 25% java, there are Windows ports too. It's not pretty (not ugly either), and it does the job - which is to extract archives while providing a file-tree and preview. It's fast too. Preview is kind of small, but suffices for small things (like images). No compression ability, no ability to fix archives that I can see, and I don't think it supports encrypted zip files yet, but not sure. Free.

BetterZip: Cocoa app, pretty, basically what you'd expect from a Mac application. Does everything Zipeg can do, except it's a bit slower. Tons of features - it allows you to compress files too (more efficiently than OSX does by default). It's a bit slower than Zipeg at its tasks according to some (but I don't have huge multi-GB archives of varying file types and compression standards to test this on). Preview is "bigger" than Zipeg, but also renders a bit slower. Unsure about support of encrypted files, or ability to fix files - will do further testing. Costs $20.

So, anyone else have experience with either of these?

I personally use Izarc ( http://www.izarc.org/). Supports a ridiculously large number of file formats, reducing the number of programs I need to install.

Sorry. Apparently I should read posts more carefully before answering .

For Mac OS X, I have only used The Unarchiver. Also supports a large number of formats, like Izarc.
