    Hi.

I have a freshly install of Tiger on my powerbook. I am able to connect to my wireless network. However in Safari I get the following "You are not connected to the internet" and am unable to surf.

In my wireless network I have 2 other PC notebook that are connect and surf with no problems.

I am using a wireless router but recent changes was to a new modem. Previously my powerbook was able to surf (via wireless) with the old modem.

I have tired to "renew DHCP lease" in network preferences. No luck.

My modem is in Bridge mode as I am using Tomato firmware in my wireless router (anti-throttling).

I have also tried to use CAT5 cable from my wireless router and get the same results (Unable to connect (Safari)).

    Could someone help?

Look to see what IP's address you are getting and see if it's in your router DHCP range. Also see if you can ping Yahoo.com and ping 206.190.60.37 If you can ping the IP the gateway is good if you can ping yahoo.com confirms you have valid DNS values.

Also see if you have your FW active and blocking access.

Are you able to connect to the AP?

My IP address is within range of DHCP. In the wireless router's UI I am able to see all computers (including PowerBook) that is connected.

In Network preferences. my IP, Subnet Mark & Router information is correct.

DNS Server is BLANK as it states as optional.

I am new to MAC so I am not sure how I would PING anything..

    Anythoughts?

I should fill out DNS info?

In my PC computer I went into CMD and notice the DNS info is same as router address. (192.168.1.0) Should I be putting that?

    Or

Should I put actual external DNS IP address which my wireless router UI has info on.. its external IP 206.248.154.xx (2 addresses)

    <NOTE>

    OK I ping'd my router (192.168.1.0) OK
    I tried DNS 206.248.154.xx (NOTHING)
    I tired GATEWAY 206.248.154.xxx (Nothing)

Glad to here. I see this quite often where DNS info is not supplied from the router. Check to see if there are any updates for your router. You really want to keep everything auto other wise you will need to setup different locations.
