So I was fooling around and was trying to put my applications folder onto my dock, So I was in finder and clicked it and draged it to my dock and well it went Poof (literally :p). How can I get it back in finder? And also once I get it back, How can I add it to my dock?

on Windows, you can revert back to old system restore points if you screw something up. Surely, Mac has a similar function?

Well Time Machine, But I haven't gotten that set up yet. I'm sure there's a easier way to bring it back, I just don't know it :p

In Finder, go to Finder>Preferences>Sidebar, and check the box next to Applications. You can also just navigate to your Macintosh HD folder, and drag the Application folder wherever you want.

All you did was delete the Alias to the Application folder in the sidebar. Anytime you see the "poof" it means you deleted an alias to something, and not the actual folder it refers to.

Actually, I did this once to my 'Documents' folder, and it actually DID delete it. Kinda screwed me over, as this was before time machine, but luckily I only had my mac for a bit so I didn't have much in there.

So yea, I don't know the circumstances, but sometimes it may actually delete it.
