Just want to roll two small questions into one thread:

    1. Do I need an external keyboard to successfully install Windows (Vista) via bootcamp on my MBP? I can't seem to interpret Apple's instructions properly...it says I need a keyboard unless I have a portable computer. Do I need anything other than my MBP???

    2. When I use Office for OS X, there is a fairly significant amount of lag while typing. Is this normal? Is there a workaround or patch?

For #1, you have a portable computer, so you do not need an external keyboard.

Much obliged. That's what I thought; just didn't want to get stuck midway through the process.

Incidentally, I tried installing XP twice and both times got a "Disk error, press any key" error that quashed both attempts. Is this a common issue? I did some research on Google and it seems a lot of people have the same problem, but that there are no guaranteed ways around it.

When did you get this "Disk Error" message? Are you booting off of a Windows XP Service Pack 2 or 3 disc? (If I'm remembering correctly, it HAS to be an SP2 or higher disc, though you can use your lower disc to generate a higher disc...at least on Windows)

As far as Office goes, you shouldn't be getting any lag when you type.

What programs are you running? My first guess would be that you're running out of available memory, and are looking at a significiant amount Page Outs.
